BRBS Workshop August 2018: Federal Programs for Beekeepers
Ms. Lindsey Carrico was back to talk about Government reimbursement programs for beekeepers.
We started our Practical Beekeeping Workshops in the winter of 2015. We meet once a month and provide additional educational support for the beekeeping community. We try to include hands-on experience with every session (weather permitting).

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Eugene Brown for teaching our workshop today! Also we would like thank everyone who came, there was a lot of good questions asked and we think everyone in attendance learned something new!
Mr. Eugene Brown was back to discuss different types of feed for our bees to get them thru the winter. Attendees had the opportunity to make some for their bees.
BRBS would like to say thank you to Mr Davie Simpson from Faith Apiary and Surry County Beekeepers Association for being our guest speaker at our Practical Beekeeping workshop, on different mite treatment methods. We certainly learned a lot and really appreciate all the hard work and research he put into it. We would also like to thank everybody who attended!
Mr. Greg Fariss, the local bee inspector, was here today to share what’s new in beekeeping with us.

BRBS would like to thank everyone for coming out to our April 2017 Practical BeeKeeping Workshop yesterday. We covered the fundamentals of swarm prevention and retrieval, then took it outside to hive a manipulated swarm! A special thanks to Dr Carl Rhoden for contributing his expertise in beekeeping and for directing the hands-on retrieval. Thanks again and Happy Beekeeping!
